Mr. Melvin Dowdell, 49 of Opelika, AL passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at  East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, 12 Noon CST at God' House of Prayer in Auburn, AL, Bishop Frank McCleod, Pastor; Officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pelia Baptist Church Cemetery in Camp Hill, AL.

Mr. Dowdell is survived by his wife, Erica Dowdell of Opelika, AL, children: Shamelien Dowedell and Angalisha (Derrick) Anderson, both of Opelika, AL and Melvin (Laquashous) Dowdell of Alexander City, AL, mother, Bobbie Webb of Auburn, AL,  father, Richard (Estelita) Scott of Loachapoka, AL, brothers: James Knight, Randy Webb and Jessie Webb of Auburn, AL, Christian (Lisa) Dowdell of Opelika, AL and Richard B. Scott of Loachapoka, AL, sisters: Alicia Dowdell and Daysha Scott both of Auburn, AL, Sharonda Webb of Opelika, AL and Katrina Bullard of Atlanta, GA, mother-in-law, May Bell Kelley of Opelika, AL, five grandchildren, brothers-in-law, John A. Kelley of Opelika, AL, Reginald (Tamika) Kelley of Auburn, AL, Christopher (Jenene) Kelley of Franklin, GA and Ronny T. (Raleshia) Burke of Birmingham, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
