Mr. Benny J. Abner, 68 of LaFayette, AL passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 1:00 p.m. CST at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL, Pastor Michael Stiggers, Officiating. Burial will follow in Handy Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Abner is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Abner, LaFayette, AL, his son, Sedrick Ratchford, Columbus, OH, stepmother, Emma Huguley, LaFayette, AL, his brothers: Walter (Elizabeth) Abner, James (Louise) Huguley, John Otis Huguley and Lee (Mary Jean) Griffin, all of LaFayette, AL, Clarence (Dorothy) Heard, Waverly, AL, William James Heard, Cusseta, AL, Crawford Bass, Atlanta, GA and JB Meadows of Tennessee, his sisters: Willean Heard, Joann (George) Loyd, and Ella (Henry) Burton, all of LaFayette, AL, Mary H. Todd and Barbara J. Abner, both of Valley, AL, his mother-in-law, Mary Alice Higgins, LaFayette, AL, sisters-in-law, Pearlean Huguley, Sandra Higgins and Valerie Higgins, all of LaFayette, AL, and Evelyn (Edward) Boyd, Montgomery, AL, one aunt, Nadine Abner and one uncle, Charlie (Bernice) Abner, both of LaFayette, AL, a special cousin, Jase Abner, and a host of precious nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
