Mr. James Lewis Black, 73 of LaFayette, AL passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.
Mr. Black will lie in state at the church one-hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, 12:00 p.m. CST at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL, Reverend Michael Stiggers | Pastor; Reverend Michael T. Winston | Eulogist; Reverend Gary Dixon | Officiating.
Burial will follow in Essie J. Handy Cemetery in LaFayette, AL.
Mr. Black leaves to cherish his precious memories to his son, Alonzo (Janeiria) Heath, Sr. of Valley, AL, his grandchildren, Alonzo Heath, Jr. and Joshua Heath, both of Valley, AL, his brothers, Jackie Black of Lanett, AL, Walter Black of Atlanta, GA, Nathaniel (Michaela) Watford of Louisville, KY, Shelby (Antoinette) Watford, Alton (Tikia) Watford, Floyd Tewell, and William Tewell, all of Indianapolis, IN, sisters, Florence (Wilbur) McClure of Lanett, AL, Valencia (Calvin) Tibbs and Louise (Greg) Chambers, both of Indianapolis, IN, Christine Wallace and Patricia Avery, both of Opelika, AL, aunts, Elizabeth Rogers of Indianapolis, IN and Catherine Smith of Grand Rapids, MI, uncles, Charlie Ware of Indianapolis, IN, Zack Ware of Grand Rapids, MI, and Fletcher (Mary Ellen) Carr of LaFayette, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
