Mr. James E. Brooks, 73 of Lafayette, AL passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center – Lanier, Valley, AL.

Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM CST until 7:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.

Mr. Brooks will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Lafayette, AL. Reverend Michael Stiggers, Pastor. Reverend Clifford Spradley, Officiating. Reverend Kelsey Barnes, Eulogist.

Interment will follow funeral service in Finley Cemetery, Lafayette, AL.

His precious memories will be cherished by: two loving and devoted children, George E. (Kalia) Brooks of Starkville, MS and Jamie Brooks of Lafayette, AL; seven grandchildren, Garrison, Justin, Jamison, Katilyn, Karrie, Char-Linda, and Master Braven Walton; two loving and devoted sisters, Sarah Davidson of Lanett, AL and Christine (Melvin) Linson of Lafayette, AL; loving sister-in-law, Letha M. Brooks of Red Oak, TX; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
