Mr. James R. Edwards, 70 of Camp Hill, AL passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, 1:00 P.M. CST at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, Rev. Justin M. Freeman, Pastor, Rev. Charlie Pulliam, Officiating. Burial will follow in Lockhart Cemetery in Dadeville, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving and precious wife, Linda Edwards of Camp Hill, AL, his three children, Annette (Lawrence) Edwards, Shinka (William) Edwards, and James (Yvette) Edwards, all of Camp Hill, AL, on sister, Doretha Heard of Opelika, AL, two brothers, Perry Tolbert of Camp Hill, AL, and Willie Joe Edwards of Philadelphia, PA, his father-in-law, Grady Nelson, three sisters-in-law, Betty (Jerry) Pulliam, and Judy Faye, both of Camp Hill, AL, and Darlene Nelson of Opelika, AL, six brothers-in-law, Terry Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Charles Nelson, and Stacy Nelson, Grady (Dorthy) Nelson, all of Camp Hill, AL, and Tracy (Mary) Nelson, of Opelika, AL, twelve grandchildren: Keanna Edwards, Jermaine (Hope) Edwards, Christavious, Felecia Edwards, Araven Edwards, Jaylen Edwards, Jamel Edwards, Jakyra Edwards, and Ryan Edwards, all of Camp Hill, AL, Keamber Edwards, Zakyia Edwards, Ania Pettis, and D’eja Pettis, all of Opelika, AL, sixteen great-grandchildren: Tristan Wilkerson, Ayden Wilkerson, Faith Edwards, Charity Edwards, JerMichael Edwards, Jataurious Edwards, Mikkai Moss, Ja’Cari Edwards, Reece Edwards, Christian Edwards, Chamari Edwards, Noah Edwards, Carter Edwards, Cario Edwards, and Caizer Edwards, four special friends, James Silmons, Bryant Maddox, O’neal Pulliam, and Anthony Webb, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
