Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Macedonia Baptist Church (Buffalo), Lafayette, AL. Dr. Darrell Jordan, Pastor/Officiating

Interment will follow funeral service at Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetery, Lafayette, AL.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Virgina Wright of Lafayette, AL; son, Clarance (Bonita) Avery of Lafayette, AL; granddaughter, Harmonie Smith of Lagrange, GA; five sisters, Lillie Kate Harris and Julia Ann Copeland both of Lagrange, GA, Willie Phillips and Nancy (Jimmy Lee) Higgins both of Lafayette, AL, Eyvonne (William) Carwell of Valley, AL; brother, O.D.  Wright of Milltown, AL; mother-in-law, Josephine Avery of Lafayette, AL; seven sisters-in-laws, Joann (Sam) Mitchell and Louise Moss both of Lafayette, AL, Julia Walker and Juanita Flournoy both of Lanett, AL, Geraldine King of Melbourne, FL, Theresa Banks of Lagrange, GA, and Jacqueline Horton of Anniston, AL; five brothers-in-law, Steve (Stacy) Avery of Wadley, AL, George Beard, James (Clara) Avery, Johnny Avery, and James Wayne McCoy all of Lafayette, AL, five Godchildren, Kamaury Avery of Wadley, AL, Jaquavious Ross, Rylee Whitlow, and Carson White all of Lafayette, AL, and Zakaylin Burton of Valley, AL; three special nephews, Earnest Wright of Milltown, AL, George Woody and Christopher Wright both of Lafayette, AL, one special niece, Julia Woody of Chapel Hill, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
