Mr. Joe Louis Dowdell, 80 of LaFayette, AL passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 12 Noon until 5:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, 1:00 PM CST at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in LaFayette, AL, Pastor Quinderus Jones, Eulogist, Reverend Melvin Owens, Officiating.

Mr. Dowdell leaves to cherish his precious memories, two daughters, Jeanette (Rev. Douglas) Jones, Sr. of LaFayette, AL and Carrey (Rev. James) Blackmon of Alexander City, AL, two sons, Joshua (Yomeisha) Dowdell of LaGrange,GA and Joseph (Yolanda) Dowdell of Montgomery, AL, two brothers, Willie Jr. (Bobbie Jean) Dowdell and Roger Dowdell, both of Waverly, AL, three sisters-in-law, Carrie Sue Henderson, Jannie (William) Black and Mary (Franklin) Evans, two brothers-in-law, Felton Spence and Willie Joe Spence, devoted friends, Charlie Abner, Ruby Seroyer Evans and Teddie Pulliam, special friend, Ms. Esthella Bailey, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
