Mr. Joe Frank Heard, 55 of Camp Hill, AL passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, 11:00 AM CST at Mt. Lovely Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, Rev. Bernard Harris, Pastor; Rev. Corey Huguley, Officiating/ Eulogist. Burial will follow in Camp Hill Cemetery. *Masks are Required*
Mr. Joe Frank Heard was born June 27, 1967 in Camp Hill, Alabama to the late Roosevelt (Buddy) Holloway Jr. and Sarah Pearson Heard. Joe Frank was born on his mother’s birthday. He united with Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Waverly, AL.
He was a graduate of Edward Bell High School. Joe Frank was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved to hunt and fish. He was often seen on his boat, all alone, enjoying nature. He loved to barbecue and created his own barbecue grill. He was known in the local community as ‘Smokin Joe’. When he arrived anywhere, his grill was behind his truck blowing out a tremendous amount of smoke.
Joe Frank was united in matrimony to Lesia Black.
He was preceded in death by his parents the late Roosevelt “Buddy” Holloway Jr. and Sarah Pearson Heard, his brother U.S. Army Capt. Michael Wayne Heard, and his nephew Timothy O’Bryan Heard.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Kiambra Shunte Heard, Opelika, AL; one stepson, Antonio JaQuan Johnson, Dadeville, AL; three grandchildren: Zariah Heard, Kishunti Pollard, and Riley Edwards; seven sisters: La Sonia (Jonas) Boyd, Opelika, AL, Vicky Renae (Derrick) Thomas, Atlanta, GA; Dr. Chinita (Johnny) Hinton, Carrollton, AL; Carol Heard, Auburn, AL; La Tonia Heard , Faynette Cox, and Beverly Finley, all of Camp Hill, AL; four brothers: James Warren (Kathy) Heard, Stillwaters, AL; Velt Deon (Kia) Heard, Douglasville, GA; Marshall Wilkerson, and Tommie Lee (Angela) Heard Jr., both of Camp Hill, AL; one aunt, Lorene Finley, LaFayette, AL; one uncle, Roy Holloway, Camp Hill, AL; a special nephew, Joseph Antonio Watts, an adorable little girl that he cared for dearly, Desiree Sy’mone Bailey, Dadeville, AL; a special friend, Gloria Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
