Mr. Orte Askew, 74 of Lanett, AL passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020.

A Private Graveside Service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2020, 2:00 p.m. EST in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett, AL, Rev. Dr. Frederick James, Ph.D.; Officiating.

Mr. Askew leaves precious memories to his loving and devoted wife, Annie Ruth Askew, two daughters, Lisa A. Askew of Lanett, AL and Janice M. Askew of Union City, GA,  three grandchildren: Ashley Z. Dozier, Jordan D. Dozier, and Jamari Malik Askew, Orte, also known as Paw-Paw, also leaves his love to his other beloved extended grandchildren: Jillian Health, David Heath, Emmanuel Magby, Olivia Bailey, Jeremiah Williams, Keiarra Williams, and Autesa Williams,  in addition, Orte leaves cherishing memories to his brother, Elder Joseph (JoAnn) Askew of West Palm Beach, FL,  Debra (Minister Herman) Baptiste of Dayton Beach, FL, Minister Sharon (Wayne) Dupree  of Lake Port, FL; Bishop Charles (Deidra) Askew of Rockmart, GA, and LaRonda Askew, of Dayton Beach, FL, along with sister-in-law,  Lucile (James) Browder of Glenwood, IL,  one brother-in-law, Wilson Gilder of Jacksonville, FL, sister-in-law, Juanita Gilder of Lanett, AL, and  sister-in-law, Shirley Gilder, of Chattanooga, TN; uncle, Governor (Pearlie) Askew of Rome, GA, aunt, Loretta Askew of Rome, GA,  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

A Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
