Ms. Emma Sue Silmon Whitlow

Ms. Emma Sue Silmon-Whitlow, 73 of LaFayette, AL passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette.

Ms. Whitlow will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, 11:00 a.m. CST at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL, Rev. Gary L. Dixon, Officiating, Rev. Melvin Owens, Pastor / Eulogist.

Burial will follow in Essie J. Handy Cemetery in LaFayette.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her son, Darrell Shaver, Opelika, AL; two daughters, Natarsha Carwell, Lanett, AL, and Twyla Pullen, LaFayette, AL;  four  sisters, Mary Ellen (Fletcher) Carr, Nell Finley, and Callie Story, all of LaFayette, AL and Faye Owens, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two brothers, Tommy (Bettye) Rampey, LaFayette, AL, and Levi Taylor, Ft. St. Lucie, FL; a brother-in-law, Bobby Baker, Lanett, AL; twelve grandchildren, Beronica Hill, Teneshia Hill, Leianna Matthews, Reverend LaJavier (Jasmine) Bryant, Lajareon Bryant, Azaria Holloway, Jeames Darricka Walton, Joshua Alexander Shaver, Skye Shaver, Darrel Shaver, Tykesha Bryant, eleven great-grandchildren, special friends, Shirley Hughley, and Robert Oliver; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
