Ms. Margaret Burton, 73 of Lafayette, AL passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.

Ms. Burton will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Greater Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Lafayette, AL. Reverend Jerone Fannin, Pastor. Reverend Douglas Jones, Sr. Officiating/Eulogist.

Interment will follow funeral service in Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetery.

She leaves a legacy of love to her two daughters, Sherry (Hilluard) Ware of Five Points, AL and China Burton of Lafayette, AL; son, Tyrone (Roslyn) Burton of Jonesboro, GA; granddaughter, whom she reared, Myeshia Burton of Valley, AL; three sisters, RaQuel Holloway and Rhonda Holloway both of Yonkers, NY and Sherry (Bobby) Moreland of Lagrange, GA; three brothers, Bill (Sandra) Burton of Lafayette, AL, Jeffrey Holloway of Yonkers, NY and Wille George Calloway of Lagrange, GA; eight grandchildren, Jerard Ware of Atlanta, GA, Kierra (Mikal) White of Suwanee, GA, Nitalian (Dantavius) Brooks, Matavais Burton, Malik Burton, and Myliah Burton all of Lafayette, AL, Tyler Lee of Lima, OH and Tyneshia Burton of Atlanta, GA; six great-grandchildren, Ny’Torrianna McCurdy, Dantavian Brooks, and A’dreyan Brooks all of Lafayette, AL, Chosen Ware of Atlanta, GA, Rhea Lee and Laila Lee, both of Lima, OH; a special daughter in love, Shareka Burton of Lafayette, AL; two God-sons, Wayne Meadows and Jerome Little; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
