Ms. Mattie Ruth Trammell

Mattie Ruth Trammell was born on November 7,1942, in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Daisy (Nee Ware) and Rufus Trammell, Sr.

She was educated in the Chambers County School System where she attended and graduated from Chambers County Training School.

She was baptized and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

When Mattie Graduated from high school, she moved to Brooklyn, New York. There, she made a wonderful life for herself. Mattie enjoyed life! She enjoyed all that life had to offer….spending time with her family and friends, traveling, a good party, the theater, entertainment, enjoying all that New York City had to offer.

On May 30, 2022, in Ocala, Florida, Mattie made her transition. She was 79 years of age. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Ben, Carlene and Rufus Trammell, Jr.

She leaves cherished memories to her sisters, Annie Jo Vines, and Phyllis Trammell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, 11:00 AM CST at Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemtery in LaFayette, AL, Reverend Douglas Jones, Sr., Officiating.
