Mrs. Lucy Mae Heard, 85 of Lanett, AL passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM EST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.

Mrs. Heard will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, 1:00 PM EST at St. James Baptist Church in Lanett, AL, Rev. John H. Flournoy, Jr., Pastor, Rev. Anthony Shealey, Eulogist.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Lanett, AL.

Mrs. Heard leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Shelly Carreker of Lanett, AL and Sylvia (Bobby) Marshall of Killeen, TX; her sons, David (Quinder) Heard of Lanett, AL, Keith (Vickie) Heard of Lanett, AL and Timothy (Kiwanya) Heard of Augusta, GA; 14 grandchildren: Ashabi Odumade of Atlanta, GA, Tinika Peterson (RIH), Julius Carreker of Lanett, AL, Tammy (Jericho) Floyd of Valley, AL, Kentae Heard of Columbus, GA, Felita (Jason) Madden of Beulah, AL, Lazanda Glaze, Jarraco (Cheryln) Glaze of Lanett, AL, Tawanna (Donald) Perrier of Harker Heights, TX, Aldonta (Antoinette) Avery of Houston, TX, Keitavious Heard of Valley, AL, Destiny Ogletree of LaGrange, GA, Tiffany Heard, and Malik Heard of Augusta, GA, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
