Mrs. Mary L. Ware Gibson, 81 of Opelika, AL passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, 2:00 PM CST at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Opelika, AL, Pastor L. W. Myers, Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She leaves behind to cherish her fond memories: her daughters, Hattie Mae (Willie) Torbert, Brenda Ann (Paul) Dumas and Wanda Fay (Bryon)McCowan, all of Opelika, AL; grandchildren: Jerry Gibson, Jr. (LaShawna) Poka, AL, Cornelia Gibson, Charlisa (Delvin) Kirk, Willie Torbert, Jr., and Sheree Torbert, all of Opelika, AL, Jessica (Brandon) Moore of Valley, AL and Courtney Gibson of Birmingham, AL, great-grandchildren, JaKiyla Gibson, Tanya Gibson, Kaitlyn Davis, Joshua Davis, Karmel Torbert, Justin Levett, Dellisa Kirk, Dellonnia Kirk, Delvin Kirk, Jr., and Harper Gibson, sisters: Lizzie Ware of Lanett, AL and Linda Ford of LaFayette, AL, brothers: Richard (Johnnie Mae) Ware and Johnnie Lee Ware, both of LaFayette, AL, a daughter-in-law, Audrey Gibson of Fort Davis, AL, sisters-in-law, Carmel Ware and Ceola Ware, aunts: Wyvonia Reese of Dayton, OH, Ruby Evans and Dot Russell, both of LaFayette, AL and Lizzie Dell Allen West of Hartford, CT, an uncle, Perry Torbert of Camp Hill, AL, special cousins: Ruby Mae Thomas, Lola Mae Ware, and Lamb Pearson, special friends, Essie Torbert of Opelika, AL and Mae Lillie Thorton, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
